AIM 1: Faculty Recuitment

AIM 1 has evolved since the beginning of the project. At the height of the Ebola Virus epidemic, our focus was on the:

Recruitment of Healthcare workers (HCWs) from US Academic Medical Centers  to work in Ebola Treatment Units

As the Ebola epidemic comes under control the needs have shifted to:

Recruitment of Healthcare workers from US Academic Medical Centers  to partner in Liberian Health Systems Strengthening

The Health Systems Focus will fill the following gaps:

  1. Training HCWs from the region in the prevention and management of Ebola at the Liberian in-country training facility
  2. Providing preclinical faculty to teach at the AM Dogliotti Medical School, which is currently unable to reopen due to lack of qualified faculty.
  3. Providing clinical faculty for the Liberian Post Graduate Medical College training programs,  which currently have insufficient faculty to meet requirements due to the deaths of several faculty members during the Ebola outbreak
